82 year old woman complained of stomach pain then found out she actually had a baby inside her for 40 years

An 82-year-old woman once complained of experiencing stomach pain but found out she actually had a baby inside her... for 40 years.

Tragically, doctors discovered the Columbian pensioner had a rare condition known as a lithopedion, or 'stone baby', where a fetus calcifies after a failed pregnancy outside the uterus.

Heartbreakingly, the phenomenon occurs when the body can’t expel the fetus, so it essentially turns it to stone to protect itself from infection.

Dr. Kim Garcsi from University Hospitals Case Medical Center explained: "When you get old cartilage in the knee, it calcifies. The body uses the same process to stay healthy."

The four-pound mass was only found after an X-ray revealed the decades-old fetus.

Although the Justice Department’s application remained pending through the presidential transition, the Trump...
